Smooooooth young boys

I've been visiting Bar Taboo for the last few months on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights. Generally, there are ten or so boys all twinks smooth, thin and not shy. They firstly strut their stuff topless on the centre stage swinging around the dance pole then come back on after a song interval in underwear bulging with their excited boy toy where they quickly bare all. While reviewing the boys on stage, I found the other topless boys chatty, polite, explain how the dancing works and introduce themselves to eventually ask if you'd like a private dance in the back room or occasionally ask if you'd buy them a drink. They readily accept 'maybe later' or 'I'll let you know' and happily leave you alone if that's what you want. While some dancers perhaps lack the technique of more experienced dancers at other bars they are still fun to watch. I found a favourite in the next dancer on stage called Julio. A cute tall thin boy with a nice bubble butt that I chatted to shortly after at the bar. We agreed on three private dances (i.e. three songs) which cost $12 each before going into the back room. The back room is only semi private i.e. not indivdually screened off with curtain. I have noticed that at the end of summer holidays, many of the college boys stop dancing because it is only a summer job for them. That's ashame as most of them are hot and I think the bar struggles getting a good compliment of quality dancers. I'd go back again occasionally for a bit more fun and really recommend it to others during summer college holidays.

dancers changed for worse :(

Visited Taboo again, for first time in 2 years. Not much about the bar itself has changed. Price of beer went up from $5 to $5.50, but that seems to be around the going rate. Price of private dances up to $15/song from $12, but the songs seem longer. Still the same "decor" inside. The DJ and barman are quite cute and should always work shirtless, but don't, except for the DJ sometimes, but he's in his booth. Biggest change, and not for the better, is the dancers :( There are a FEW nice ones, such as one guy who is str8 and works on road building full-time but gives a great pvt show, as does his bi friend. They're the kind of guys you'd like to have as a friend, and if he wasn't str8, a fwb ;) Unfortunately, then there are the rest. The hottie of the bunch, is a guy who knows how hot he is and acts like he knows it, seeming to restrict his pvt dances to regulars who buy big blocks at a time. But the WORST guys are the others who act like the "cool clique" of high school girls that, if you decline an offer from one of the clique because he just doesn't do much for you, you get blacklisted and by the next time you visit, you'll spend most of the night alone, ignored even by guys who weren't there when you made your "faux pas." This clique is led by a dancer who's WAY past his twink expiration date and his "protege," maybe even son, who dances, acts, and dresses almost exactly the same, except he wears a backward baseball cap instead of a doo rag (worn by the older one to cover his baldness the way it looks) There are a couple cuties in the clique, and some butt-ugly ones, too, but if they're in the clique, they'll follow the clique's rules no matter what. The good thing is that I'll be at Taboo next year and these clique-y guys WON'T! And if YOU go, be sure to get pvt dances from the str8 guy and his bud! And ignore the hottie and the "girls" in the clique!

Twink boys/barely legal - High Drink Prices

Bar is at the East end of the village across from the Pappineau Metro station. No cover charge and is open till 3am. Guys consist of barely legal twinks, all teenagers- hence the name taboo. Moderate size bar with cabaret table seating or bar seating. Has pool tables and darts, and very high drink prices.....probably the highest in gay montreal clubs. Guys will push to get you to buy them a drink since they dont get discounted drinks, then push for private shows Be carefull with private shows at any Montreal strip club. The going rate is $10 a song (no contact/open curtain) or $20 a song for contact and closed curtain. Songs tend to be shortend, and iot works out to $5 a minute. I barter with them and try for 3 songs for the price of 2......it's all negotiatiable. If they dont negotiate, tell them the nights early and you'll think about it, chance are they will return and make a deal. Once you get to the room, make sure they don't start right away. They will try to start durring the middle of the song you come in on. Also, ask them to count each song for you. Following these steps will help you avoid an suprises

Skip Taboo, worst place in Village

I had to change my last review on Taboo, since it is true what other people has known for weeks. It is becoming worse and worse. The twink dancers are ugly and rude, and they will try to scam you when they have the chance. There's one blond junkie in particular, TIMOTHY, that will give you a lot of trouble. This bar has known better days. Now the kids even have drugs freely in the bathroom. Really crappy place to go.

my springtime visit!

i try and get to montreal/ottawa at least once a year usually in early to late spring time if possible.i come alive in spring and summer which i refer to as my "phoenix rising". Montreal itself is a facinating cultural place to explore. The bar taboo is great, dynamic but needs more diversity and infusion od different unique and enigmatic people A.K.A dancers to attract an even larger clientele. As well as interior and exterior rennovations more "gay suitable" to a more broad based environment. On the whole i loved taboo and the other strip bars in the vicinity( sad to hear about l'adonnis but c'est la vie) out of its demise shall perhaps rise a new male strip bar. We shall see!
