Il ne faut pas oublier les shows de drag queens dans le sous-sol !
J'ai récemment découvert les shows de drag queens dans le sous-sol du Apollon et c'est merveilleux en plus d'être gratuits !
Not quite fulfilling its potential, but worth a look
I visited this club on a Saturday night, which is dedicated to house music. The club was certainly busy enough. The crowd was almost exclusively male and mainly late 20s/early 30s and more shirts-on, than shirts-off. It's a nice venue with good lighting. However, the placement of the DJ box above a LED screen on the mezzanine floor does detach the DJ from the crowd. For a Saturday night, I think a bit more in terms of production (go-go dancers etc) is warranted. Overall, it's a nice venue, and worth considering a visit. But it's not quite a place to lose yourself on a Saturday night.
HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF CLIENTELE
Reading previous reviews here made me feel much better about a situation that happened to me here in previous months. While waiting for friends in the lobby near the entrance as we were leaving, I was threatened and violently treated for waiting there. Some asshole started yelling at me to get out (which btw it was -30c outside). My friends were still getting their jackets and I told him I wanted to wait there. He then starts to call "security" before I even have a chance to leave. the so-called "security", kicked and threw me outside the door. (this guy was a big muscular guy - im 5'6 and 110 pounds). Then, after finally being out, the security comes out and starts yelling at me for being near the stairs as I was still waiting for my friends, and starts to have a screaming match with me threatening me that i "better never come back here". I tried so hard not to laugh. No fucking problem. This place is disgusting and and I have heard many other stories of the way this place treats their staff & clientele. It is a shame to the gay community and I will NEVER EVER GO BACK THERE. SPREAD THE WORD GUYS cause this place needs a serious wake up call.
if you want to get beaten up
The bar has been the subject of a tv public affair show for beating up customers. One customer was beaten up by the bouncers at this bar. I also personally know of two other relatives who got beaten up there. Avoid this place
