Bad Experience
I had a very negative experience at this place. I went to this bar alone by myself. I am a very shy and timid person, a loner mostly. It was around my 10th time there (so I was 'kinda' a regular so I thought). It was my intention to make this place my regular hangout place to drink and relax. I really just wanted to enjoy my time (alone) and listen to the music. The whole time I was there I kept to myself, sat at the bar, and really bothered no one, nor talked to anybody. I stared at the wall behind the bar. The only human exchange I made there were with the peculiar and unusual staff who approached me, and let's just say I ended up ending my night early and walking home with tears down my face. I will not go to places in the Village that serve and make money from a gay clientele, but treat us poorly as a gay community. I felt oppressed as a gay man that night, and that my physical security had been compromised. I will not go to bars in the Village where I do not feel a sense of trust and safety, and for other gay men who are also like me who go out drinking by themselves, please follow this advice.
Disgusting place. Visited Feb 2013. They lose your jacket and try to blame you, brainless rude employes and "security"-clowns. Terrible experience compared to Unity or Sky at the village. Not a cent of your money to these thieves! P.S. 01 March 2013: Just saw that 'security' black guy yelling and almost beating a little young boy sitting on the street after about 3am. This 'security' is uncontrollable, totally agressive I should have called police on HIM. Where do police look at at these moments??
CRAPPY FLY (TORONTO) WANNABE BAR
For the BEST space in the entire village, they certainly used it horribly. Aside from the terrible layout (terrible since the potential was enormous in this space), the crowd is just confusing - this place has NO identity. Did it replace parking? A corner of the crowd thinks so. Is it a new Unity? Another corner of the bar things so... differing groups is good, but the problem is that the music is generally so horrible that it can't even unify the dramatically different clients. This place REALLY has potential - but is failing miserably at the moment.
Fun Place
Not the best gay club in the world but well worth it. A good crowd in their mid20s-mid30s. Good music. Downstairs in the katacoms is an older leather bear type crowd. No place to smoke unless you go back out the front door
