INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL – DIGITAL ART
20 – 24 May 2015
Sight & Sound is a festival that, in its 7th year, will immerse the public in a series of events celebrating digital art. Festival activities will be held at Eastern Bloc, 7240 Clark Street, and in various other public places. Eastern Bloc is proud to include the festival, for the second consecutive year, as part of the initiative Digital Spring, supported by CRÉ Montréal.
For this 2015 edition the festival takes the thematic name Hyperlocal. We wish to explore the horizontality of the network of artistic production and its contextualization in an ultra-localised space. We have invited artists, whose practices engage in a dialogical process, taking place in real time and operating with and in the "network" as a medium. Today, our inter- connected society is based on (and runs through) the circulation of information. In this regard, we are interested in how artists are experimenting with distance, all the while operating in localized networks, creating open and participatory network structures _ that exist independently of institutional structures _ and initiating and revisiting notions of distance and proximity, centre and periphery.

SIGHT & SOUND – 7ème ÉDITION : HYPERLOCAL
FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL – ART NUMÉRIQUE
20 – 24 mai 2015
