What we say

One of Montreal's longest-standing pubs
Le Mystique is situated like an English Pub and has a friendly feel to it. They encourage you to bring your own music, so predictability is hardly ever the case. Stanley Pub is upstairs and offers light snacks to the patrons below.

***** Very boring on Sunday night
Posted: September 27, 2009
I went to this bar on Sunday one week ago. It was about 9 pm. There were only 2 clients. I stayed 1 minute. I don't know how it is the rest of the week. Is there a Saturday night fever there? I don't think so...

***** Attitude central

I am a student in Montreal myself and I heard about this place from my landlord, who is also gay. He seemed to like it. But one day, I got off at Peel Station and was looking for some place, I believe it was a book store. The bartender, I assume, was outside of this bar smoking, which I remembered was gay, and I asked him, en fran§ais, where such and such street was. He looked at me with such racism and hatred in his eyes and said with such indignation "Excuse me". This was my first, only and last experience with this bar. Once I found where I was, I went got my things and went home. If you're an angryphone who hates French people and the French language and likes being around middle aged queens then this is your place. Even in the twink bars in the Village, noone could be as rude and snobby as the people at this place.

***** Great Place for young (like myself) and older

You don't have to worry about bullshit attitude at this place, I'm a 23 year old (English) McGill University Student who often gets tired of the village and it's snobbery so I decided to check this place out one day. The bartenders were friendly, helpful, nice to chat with and it's a cozy change of pace HOW REFRESHING. The photo's of over 35 years of clientelle past and present are interesting too.
